A palace of mirages 2002 |
Super Daddy and Wonder Mom is a humorous yet heart-felt homage to his parents. In this age when the close parents-children relationship is easily broken, or even frowned upon, Kim Kira uses this as an inspiration for this work. Who are heroes? It is only when we get older that our first heroes are displaced by others. Kim Kira explores this first hero-worship, creating a work which is a parody but surprisingly without cynicism, creating heroes who are weak, imperfect and are heroes only because their son wants them to be. After all, for whom would any sane couple in their бо60s pose as superheroes, let alone be photographed in them?
